Title: The Raven
Post by: Jeeves on April 26, 2010, 04:30:39 AM
Just been watching The Raven over at http://www.sfcrowsnest.com/articles/news/2010/The-Raven-14784.php

It looks like a calling card very much in the style of District 9.

Does everyone think this is the future of SFF movies?

Self-financed, original, homemade SFX, and shot using digital tape?

Def. the future of film making.

Hollywood can no longer author to pay name actors mega-millions to star in films that never pay back, so why not take talented unknowns of which there are many hundred of thousand wannabes, pay them peanuts, and slap on ever-cheaper special effects?

It's a no-brainer.

This situation will get worse as file sharing makes all movies as free as music has become.

Good bye, Hollywood! Nice knowing you.

Oh, I don't know, I think the big boys with their big budgets will be around on the scifi movie making scene for a while longer!

Hey Nickkhun23,

There's a forum called 'saying hello' over in the general section of these forums. Why not head on over and introduce yourself?

Hope to see you around here more in the future :-)
