The Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature is given to the fantasy novel, multi-volume, or single-author story collection for adults published during 2012 that best exemplifies the spirit of the Inklings. Books are eligible for two years after publication if not selected as a finalist during the first year of eligibility. Books from a series are eligible if they stand on their own; otherwise, the series becomes eligible the year its final volume appears. The Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Children’s Literature honors books for younger readers (from Young Adults to picture books for beginning readers), in the tradition of The Hobbit or The Chronicles of Narnia. Rules for eligibility are otherwise the same as for the Adult Literature award. The question of which award a borderline book is best suited for will be decided by consensus of the committees.

The Mythopoeic Scholarship Award in Inklings Studies is given to books on Tolkien, Lewis, and/or Williams that make significant contributions to Inklings scholarship. For this award, books first published during the last three years (2010–2012) are eligible, including finalists for previous years. The Mythopoeic Scholarship Award in Myth and Fantasy Studies is given to scholarly books on other specific authors in the Inklings tradition, or to more general works on the genres of myth and fantasy. The period of eligibility is three years, as for the Inklings Studies award.

On Saturday 8th June, in London from 1 - 2pm, STEPHEN LAWHEAD will be signing the third book of the BRIGHT EMPIRE series, THE SPIRIT WELL. A rare visitor to the UK, Stephen brings us the tale of Kit Livingstone's search for the Skin Map - and the secret behind its cryptic code. Is it more than one world can contain?

On Thursday 20th June, 6 - 7pm at the London Megastore, SETH PATRICK will be signing REVIVER, a truly terrifying debut. Able to wake the recently dead, Revivers allow them to bear legal witness to their own demise. But Jonah Miller is about to encounter a terrifying presence...

Sam Stone’s Darkness Comes to Audio Go - November 2013

The novella, entitled The Darkness Within, is an exciting and pervasive story set on a spaceship in the far-distant future, and what happens when an alien infection takes hold …

Sam Stone’s first novel, Killing Kiss, won the silver award for Best Horror Novel in ForeWord Magazine’s Book of the Year competition, and her subsequent novels and short stories have gained her much acclaim, including winning the British Fantasy Award. Recent works include the novella Zombies at Tiffany’s and the vampire novel Silent Sand, and Killing Kiss was recently sold to Germany.  UK PUBLISHER SELFMADEHERO RECEIVES THREE NOMINATIONS IN PRESTIGIOUS EISNER AWARDS 2013

This year’s Eisner Comic Industry Awards, the Oscars for comics, have nominated two SelfMadeHero titles amongst their nominations of three different categories.

 Li Kunwu and P. Otie’s critically acclaimed A CHINESE LIFE telling one man’s life during the rise of Mao Zedong’s China, is nominated in two categories: Best Reality-Based Work, and Best U.S. Edition of International Material – Asia .

Lively Latin jazz  drama CHICO AND RITA adapted by Fernando Trueba and Javier Mariscal from the Oscar-nominated animated feature, is included in the shortlist for Best Adaptation from Another Medium.

Named after the acclaimed comics pioneer and creator of The Spirit, Will Eisner, the awards will be celebrating 25 years of highlighting the best publications and creators in comics and graphic novels rom around the world.  The winners will be announced at a special gala ceremony at the San Diego Comic-Com International on 19th July.
