Anyone tried reading any of the books in the  Rain Wild Chronicles series?

I've dipped into Robin Hobb before at the library and came away disappointed... it was closer to a sword and sorcery version of Eastenders or Corrie, pure soap.

I made it through one book, but have no desire to read any more.

Not badly written, just nothing to engage me. Got the feeling - and don't shout, ladies - that it might be more of a read for female fans, kind of what they might move onto after Twilight when they got bored of vampires.
