Farlander - what do ya think?
« on: March 25, 2010, 02:45:38 PM »
Just finished reading the fantasy novel Farlander by Col Buchanan and am in two minds about the book and how good it was.

On one hand it was a good epic fantasy tale that kept the pages moving (that's the plus side), but it also felt a little bogged down in places.

Col Buchanan is a new author, I believe, so perhaps Col'll develop a defter touch with experience?

Anyone else tackled Farlander yet and would care to comment?

I tried it.

It was okay, but not quite as good as a lot of the public reviews that have been going up.

Maybe 3 stars out of 6, If I was to give the book a rating scale.

I got to about half way through the novel then got distracted.

I'm still waiting for inspiration to strike before I resume reading it, but then I usually have about four or five fantasy and science fiction books on the go at any one time.
