I have a copy of the first two books in that series sitting at home waiting to be read. I've been waiting to start it until it looked like the end was in sight but it hasn't happened yet. A friend of mine is forever complaining about it!

Then again, there are some series where, if it is good enough, I don't mind the wait. I read The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss over a year ago and enjoyed it so much that I am happy to wait to get another book of such high quality to read - plus I get an excuse to read the first one again!

I've also been saving the last book in Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy (yes I know it's not scifi but it is very good) because I enjoyed the first two so much I don't *want* it to end.

So, are the existing books in A Song of Ice and Fire good enough to be worth the wait?
